Code of conduct for members of Salisbury Road And Mountain Cycling Club (SRAMcc)

SRAMcc is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns with the SRAMcc Committee or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the club Welfare Officer. SRAMcc operates a ‘three strikes’ policy for members that are subject to an upheld complaint.

  • Verbal warning
  • Written warning
  • Termination of club membership

As a member of SRAMcc, you are expected to abide by the following code of practice:

  • All members must take responsibility in ensuring they are up to date with the rules, understand and adhere to them.
  • All members must take responsibility in ensuring they are following the Ride Etiquette guidelines defined by the club.
  • All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background, religious beliefs or sexual identity.
  • Bullying of any sort will not be tolerated. SRAMcc encourages everyone to enjoy cycling and understands that people have different motivations for taking part.
  • Members should recognise the valuable contribution made by coaches and officials who are solely volunteers. They give their time and resources to the club for your benefit.
  • All members must respect officials and publicly accept their decisions.
  • All members should be a positive role model, treat other riders, club officials and race officials with the same level of respect you would expect to be shown to you.
  • Use correct and proper language at all times.
  • Members are not allowed to smoke, consume alcohol or drugs on club premises or whilst representing the club in an official capacity.
  • Members should keep to agreed timings for meetings and be aware other riders have no obligation to wait.
  • Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.

Additional code of conduct for Salisbury Road And Mountain Cycling Club (SRAMcc) committee members:

  • All committee members that have access to personal data necessary to perform their club duties commit to only using that personal data for club related purposes.
  • All committee members are duty bound to respect all members needs and wishes objectively and impartially without prejudice.
  • All committee members are duty bound to treat all members equally and fairly. Any concerns about the behaviour of individual Committee members should be raised confidentially with the club Welfare Officer. The club has a robust complaints procedure that will be followed.
