Time trial on course P521c round the Woodford valley. If you want to take part, then keep the 10th of September free. Sign on will be at The Bridge Inn car park at 08:30, rider briefing at 08:45 and the first rider off at 09:00. As with rides organised by the Salisbury Tri Club, we will be arranging for the pub to open at 10:00.

Roughly a 17 mile loop starting from five rivers and heading out via Old Sarum, past Keepers Cottage over the rolling hills to meet Monarchs Way. From there a couple of tight, rooty downhills take you into the Woodford Valley at Netton where you pick up more single track leading towards Wilsford. Some wider double track takes you out from here past a viewpoint for Stonehenge and over to Druids Lodge. From Druids Lodge, a short pedal by the side of the main road takes you to a track leading back into the Woodford Valley. From here there is a mile or so on road taking you past the Wheatsheaf and over to Avon Farm cottages where you can pick up more single track taking you back to five rivers. Strava route

The long summer ride will be close to the longest day again… Saturday 17th June. A similar route to before, although slightly modified – and we’ve removed all the shotguns from climbers to prevent any repeat of last year 😉 Cost is £25 ( for 3 meals ) and if anyone would like to raise a little money for charity then Andy is working with the local spinal injuries trust to raise a little money for some hand bikes…. ssit.org.uk I’ll add a few more details on here for those interested in coming along for what has been a great ride for the last 3 years 🙂

Round the island, with the option of riding to and from Southampton for those who wish. An early start of 06:30 from 5 Rivers for those wishing to cycle to the ferry terminal in Southampton, or meet us for the 09:00 ferry at the Red Funnel ferry terminal. The crossing takes about 60 minutes. The ride profile makes for a very easy ride to Southampton! Strava link here of the route. Once we get to the island, we will go either clockwise or counter-clockwise, depending on the prevailing wind direction. The total distance round the island is 106km, following the marked route. The profile is pretty much the same, no matter which way round you ride! Lunch (most important) will be at the White Horse Inn as this is about half way round the route so works for either direction. As a guide, last year we caught the 17:30 ferry back from…

Both Stonehenge Cycles and Hayball Cyclesport have generously offered a 10% discount on full price parts and accessories when you present your SRAMcc membership card. Please note that this discount is not applicable to cycles, sale items or workshop labour charges. Please take advantage of this offer and of course at the same time feel great by helping support your local cycle shops.

SRAMcc is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials. This means that members can compete under the club colours at both open and other time trial events. There are a couple of important items of note for members entering any CTT events stipulated by the CTT organisation. Members must used the full name of the club when registering for events (Salisbury Road and Mountain Cycling Club). This is to avoid confusion with a well known cycle component manufacturer. When entering open time trials, the only permitted SRAMcc kit is the 2017 version. As a club we are not permitted to carry any sponsors logos on our kit. For events other than open time trials, the older versions of the club kit may be worn. If you have any questions in relation to our affiliation, then please let us know.

We have a club cycling kite design, which we encourage club members to use on all rides to help promote the club. Certain competitive events require you to wear properly registered club kit, and our kit design has been registered. Because the kit is made up by the supplier in batches we need to provide a group order, you cannot order individual items. The club aims to set up a group kit order about two times a year, so look out on the club Facebook page if you are interested. For further details contact Mark Harvey, who is the club kit officer.
